CLOSED AS OF OCT 2019!
Boyfriend and I wanted to come and eat some Korean food but it looks like they shut down?
It was replaced by a Korean fried chicken spot called Chi-Macs.
Down to try this new spot for some Korean fried chicken but unfortunately my boyfriend and I drove all this way for some good Korean food.
Sad to see Song Cook's go in Mississauga. :( -

I was their regular customer years back. I've noticed that the restaurant has been under different management for the past couple years. Since they changed the owners, the quality of foods also went down.
I went back after a year, just bc I was so craving for black bean noodles and this place was the one place I know that has it. So, I was so excited to come.
And, it turned put to be a huge disappointment.
My bf never tried a pork bone soup before, so I ordered him once. Lets me tell you, I've tried so manyyyy Korean restaurant and none of their soups disappointed me like this one. It was tasteless, watery; I wondered if their broth was actually cooked and boiled with the bones or they bought in cans and add water.
It literally had no taste and we're so disappointed.
My black beans noodle was okay, there were a lot of beans and no beef. I don't think it was beef tbh, it tasted more like pork.
Okay, last one was spicy rice cake. It was so bad. Same as the soup, it was tasteless, the sauce wasn't blended probably with rice cakes, which made the rice cakes had no taste as well, and also wasn't be cooked properly, too hard to chew. Fish cakes was a few, a lot of onions instead.
However, their service was fast and friendly, they checked up on you couples of time. Free parking lot. A lot of seating.
I don't know but I'd not come back for sure. I remembered it was my to go place way back then. But now, Dundas street has a lot more delicious Korean restaurant. Wouldn't recommend. -

Mans were marved, so we came here for dinner yesterday at around 6:00 PM. We ordered the Jajamyun, Tteokbokki, and the Kalbi plate.
Jajamyun: This shit was straight FIRE! Probably the best Jajamyun i've had in Mississauga; NO CAP. If y'all got other Jajamyun recommendations, slide into my dms. I'll be the judge.
Tteokbokki: It was good but was a pretty standard ting yknow, nothing real special about it.
Kalbi plate: Meat was tender azzzz, nuff said. Serving size could've been more though styll.
Service: The ting that served us was a straight wifey ting. She came by constantly to fill our tea and cut up our food for us. Food came quickazz, but the restaurant wasn't that busy so I guess that's to be expected.
Price: This was a reasonably priced korean joint. Definitely ain't no mcdonalds junior chicken ting. But wasn't like mans had to work that OT to pay for it ja feel?
Overall 5/5 -

Compared to the last time I came here, I found that the quality of the food has decreased. Service is almost non-existent, and the banchan is quite boring/bad.
I ordered a kam ja tang (classic Korean fare) - and for $10.99, I was expecting as much if not more meat as other places. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed to find that I had three big hulking pieces of bone... with not that much meat on said bones. That said, I did enjoy the addition of the bean sprouts and I liked having more napa cabbage - I just wish that it wasn't at the expense of protein. The flavour was good, slightly spicy and very salty. Last time I came to Song Cook's, my favourite part was the purple rice - this time, I found the purple rice to be quite dry, stiff, and not really earthy nor rich. It was quite saddening.
My friends ordered the seolleong tang and spicy stir-friend pork on a hot plate. The guy who ordered the ox bone soup wasn't used to its very pure and clear taste; he found it tasteless and hated it.
The banchan this time was kimchi (decent), some stringy and chewy seaweed salad (weird), bean sprouts, and japchae. The bean sprouts are usually my favourite, but these weren't your standard sesame oil ones. They were lightly salted, but were still good. However, the japchae was disgusting. We left it virtually untouched. There was none of the rich sesame goodness, and it actually had a very stale flavour.
I'll probably not return - I loved Song Cook's before, but I now find it grossly overpriced and not that good. With so many other Korean options, there's no reason to come here anymore. -

My friend and I came here on a Saturday around 4pm and there were only three or four other people in the restaurant, which we were a little skeptical about. But I guess that's a good time to come to avoid any lunch or dinner rushes.
My friend ordered the beef bibimbap which she liked a lot, and I ordered the pork bone soup which I had been craving for a few weeks. The soup was great - really flavourful, had a good amount of pork and a bit of a kick to it as well.
Service was good as the restaurant wasn't very busy - the food arrived only a few minutes after ordering. The prices were very reasonable as well.
I'm not in that area too much but would return if I happen to be there again, and would recommend checking it out if you're looking for Korean food!
